A DRINK WITH CHUCK BASS

Chuck Bass? You don’t know Chuck Bass? You know the sexy and very rich guy who play in Gossip Girl…. Ok, I’m sure that you know him!  The Empire Hotel is became very famous thanks to this TV show.

When you walk on Columbus Circle, between the 62nd street and the 63RD street, you can’t miss the big Empire Hotel red neon on the rooftop.

The rooftop is nice, but not amazing. In fact, it is on the 12th floor, so you don’t have the most beautiful view on Manhattan. The Empire Hotel offers views of Lincoln Center as well as the Broadway & Columbus Avenue gateway to Manhattan’s Upper West Side.

You can take a drink during the week, but the ambiance is not crazy. I have already gone on a Thursday night, and there were just some clients of the hotel. It’s quiet, and nice if you want to talk with some friends. Plus, during the winter there is a chimney that bring an intimate sensation. The price are quiet expensive; $15 for drinks with vodka, whiskey and their juices. A tequila shot will cost you $12…, plus they serve you the drinks in plastic scratched glasses, that’s a little cheap! You also can eat, food is sub-par and a little overpriced; they just have a bar menu with appetizers.

Nevertheless, I recommend you to go on a Friday or Saturday night. The rooftop becomes a nightclub, and the atmosphere is very nice. You have to pay the entrance, I think it’s $10 or $20; it depends the day, and if you are a girl or a boy. Otherwise, the music is pretty good and varied; there are House, Rnb, and pop music. During the winter, they close up one side of the rooftop, but you always can enjoy the view. The dress code is upscale casual.

The Empire Hotel is not the best place in Manhattan, but you can enjoy it if you are with good friends.
